Brilliance Or Bonehead? Lexus To Take On the Audi A1 With Prius C Derivative
Is the world ready for a Lexus smaller than the CT200h? Apparently Lexus seems to think so. The word through the grapevine is that Lexus is preparing a competitor for the likes of the Audi A1, the MINI Cooper, the Alfa Romeo MiTo and the Citroen DS3. Tentatively we can call it the Lexus AS150, and it will sit on the same platform as the Toyota Prius C.

Gotta love the Internets. "word through the grapevine" on a Malaysian blog becomes "Apparently Lexus seems to think so." Lexus is not running a race to the bottom. They have stated that the CT is as entry level as they get. File this under notgonnahappen.com

I don't care about these carts, no matter who makes them. But I'm curious, how much will this cost. Let me guess $20k.

C'mon, you know that car would not leave a Lexus dealership for less than $22k, probably $25,000 with Navigation, cheap leather and satellite radio.

if that econobox is for real, lexus has really hit bottom. the yaris looks more substantial and luxurious than THAT.

Dear Lexus,

Do not make this car. If you need another car to add to your line-up, do the right thing and take either a RAV4 Hybrid or FR-S, add a few horsepower, leather and a different body styling then slap a "L" on the hood and call it a day.

Of course, you can add your $10,000 Lexus fee.
