Should Volkswagen Build This Touareg CC?
A CC version of the Volkswagen Touareg is being taken into consideration these days by the German based automaker, after BMW has leaded the way in the new segment.

Volkswagen is planning to develop a Touareg CC which will go against models like the Audi Q6 or the Mercedes-Benz MLC, not to mention the one which is here for a few years, the BMW X6, the leader of the segment. Even if a Volkswagen Touareg CC is a real possibility, the German based carmaker didn’t announce anything official on this subject for the moment, but according to the guys at autobild.de, the company is expected to be launched in early 2015 as a 2016 model year.

No! The X6 is a vehicle that serves a small niche in the suv segment. VW would be better served by improving reliability and vehicle distribution.

MorePower I totally agree with you! My wife drives a TOUAREG and we love it, we have even thought about trading it in for a 2012 but this "CC" thing is hideous just like the X6.

Even as a VW owner, I would say no. While I have no issues with current VW reliability, I do agree with MorePower about a niche market.

Quit messing around and put a TDI in the North American Tiguan, and you will have outstanding sales.

I wonder how well the X6 sells here? It's kind of an odd vehicle - probably for a very small niche market. It makes little sense to compete unless they can make a case for more sales that will offset development and marketing costs. Just because they can doesn't mean they should. I think they can do better by improving on what they already offer.

Just say "NO" to any more copies of BMW's winner of the "FUGLY AWARD" in automotive design!

I'd like to add that I'm not a VW hater. In fact, I own the last VW truck sold in north america ('92 double-cab 1-ton), the first Beetle TDI in western Canada, a loaded/modded 2008 GTI 5-door, and a custom-built 2009 Jetta TDI/DSG wagon.
I love VW quality and practicality. But a Touareg CC (like the X6) is not practical and serves no market except the tiny one for people with more money than brains, and BMW's X6 has that one sewn up already!
Bring on the Tiguan TDI, and a larger prectical car: the Passat Wagon TDI, to fill a void created after the last E-Class diesel wagons of 1987, and sporadically teased by VW. Has anyone at VW noticed that used Passat diesel wagons sell for 2x to 3x what the same gas models sell for? Most of those buyers would buy a new model if it was offered.

VW should launch a CC Touraeg. This configuration is simply the evolution of the auto. To NOT play in this key high margin category would be crazy!

Agent009,

you posted the wrong picture. You need to post a picture of the Audi CC Touraeg Not BMW X6 (Sarcastic intended)

Come on Audi you can do better than that. That picture look exactly like the BMW X6. I don't why everyone complain how ugly the BMW X6 look??? I saw several on the street person and I think it look really mean and beefy.
