VIDEO: So, THIS Is The Clip That Has SO Many Folks Talking
Released within the past week, Ford has found itself in the middle of a firefight. Yes, a massive internet flamewar that could likely be seen from space.

Its first mistake was to make a video capturing the all-new 2013 Ford Focus ST with a BMW M3 in it. Its second mistake was to hire a copy writer that "it's truly a street fighter, even up against cars out of its class."

Yikes.

In reality, the video is actually a pretty descent one. I mean, what other automaker has a cute woman driving a manual 'box? It shows the value-add of the ST over its direct competition, namely the Subaru WRX and Mazda Mazdaspeed3.

Then, it goes on to show an M3 "flipping a b!&^#" and cruising alongside. Ford dare not imply the ST is class competitive as the BMW drives away at speed; however, it does make a direct point that an ST will keep some dollars in your bank account. Considering the ST has 270 lb.-ft. of torque and the BMW has 295 lb.-ft. is something it can bank on but then you realize the Ford is wrong-way drive.

Long story short, there's nothing to see here, folks. Just a marketing spiel that folks -- once again -- took far too seriously.

Watch the 2013 Ford Focus ST and rivals engage in a high-speed game of cat and mouse. The ST is out to prove that it's truly a street fighter, even up against cars out of its class.

As much as I like Ford over the other American auto manufacture. I am willing to bet $100 that a stock BMW M3 with a V8 will Man Handle this stock Ford ST from 0-60, 1/4 miles race and around the track any day of the week.

That's like saying you giving a Hyundai Genesis 500 hp and than comparing to a Lambo Gallardo ; ) IMAO...........

And to those of you say buy American just Shit the he$$ of already. You're so dumb you don't even know most American cars are being made in Mexico, Canada and other foreign country.

From my understanding Japanese automakers are apparently producing and manufacturing more cars here then the big 3. Toyota, Nissan and Honda has a lot of plants here making their cars with American workers.

Wow, go of tangent much?

The M3 clearly passed the ST so Ford isn't saying that the Focus is a better car, it just illustrates that it is faster and costs more.

I will let your diatribe about American cars and buyers play itself out, it speaks volumes about you.

If my memory is correct the ST was tested going 0-60 in magazines in 6 seconds ! 6 seconds are you serious...you call this a performance car
and rival beater...no way. With its power and torque it should be well into the 5's but because of weight or engineering it isn't. Nice try Ford marketing trying to save a loss but not good enough.

Great work ford. Any idea how the Ford would fare against a Scion FR-S?

Looks like the hood isn't even closed on the Ford in the screenshot of the video.

Why would anyone even compare it to an M3 when it couldn't even beat a 328i? A 328i is faster than this much less a 335i or M3.

Last I checked, the Mazda also has a torque-steer compensation system. While the girl is cute, the ad is dumb.
