2014 Lexus IS May Debut At Detroit Auto Show - Should It Be A Refresh Or Redo?
Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is currently working on the third generation of the luxury sedan but even if the model is being developed as we speak, details on it remain a mystery. In a recent interview with GoAuto, Peter Evans, the Lexus Australia marketing manager hinted that the new generation of the Lexus IS might make its official debut early next year, possibly at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2014 Lexus IS will use the same body as the second generation of the model, but that’s about all the info we’ve got on the model for the moment.

As much as I love the current Lexus IS250/350 which came out in 2006 as an 2007 model it definitely need a redo for sure. And agree need more leg room in the back.

It's definitely one of the best looking sports sedan in the market right now. I hope they don't mess up the design.

The same crystal ball I used to tell you dopes that the redesigned 2010 RX350 was going to continue to be a huge hit and the segment leader again? As they say the rest is history.

Maybe it will look radically differnet from its current gneration. You know, like BMW, Audi, and MBZ do with each new generation.....

I guess all the IS trolls are mingling here hoping that with new vehicle they will finally be able to compete with the 3-Series. "Killer", "incredibly good and aged very well" LoL!
The IS is a chick car that will never be competive. Go purchase a GS or LS if you want a real LEXUS.

actually the essence of Lexus is in LS and ES (the very first two lexus ever made), and to a lesser extent, the RX. it is the smooth and quite that give Lexus its unique characteristic.

whore: the IS350 is only 10% of IS sales. the thousands of little silver ones on the road are mostly IS250.

and what's with the bigotry?

....Well, one thing is for sure -ghosthunter. When girl or guy drives up to vallet-parking, they still get red-carpet treatment. It's (IS250/350/IS-F) the badge my friend! Come hell or high water Lexus still rolls with the best of'em.

ghosthunter please do not put LS and ES on the same sentence. Makes me want to puke and trade in my car right away. The ES is an entry level car, basically a souped up CAMRY. This is what some of us want to distant ourselves from in order to convince the rest of the world that we are major players.

@USNA1999,

the Lexus IS250/350 is definitely not a chick car. If it a chick than so is the C-Class C250/300, Audi A4 and the BMW 325i/328i as well. The Lexus IS350 with 306 hp and 277 lbs. torque is a very quick car. And it's a very handsome looking car as well.

Here is a list of CHICK CARS that a lot of you German boi think it's a man car just because it carry the logo, Audi TT, Audi A4 1.8/2.0T, Porsche Cayman, Boxster, MB C250/300, BMW 325i/328i and all the Mini cooper cars. But this is just my own opinion does not mean I am right.

I like all sports car from all the automakers except Hyundai and we all know why. So no need for me to explain.

Badgewhore what is up with your anti-gay rants? Go get some Chick Fil A and quit the hate. LoL!
I will not be trading it until I find out if I will get my transfer to the Middle East early next year. Additionally, I just installed new tires and it's back to driving like new again.

BTW Lexus - Agree with you on your list of chick cars. Good Luck!

it came out in 2006. 2013 is the 8th year of the current model. how could 2014 be anything but a complete and total overhaul?

LexusLexus - 8/7/2012 2:52:11 AM

Yes it definitely need a completely new design with more legs room in the back, lighter, more horsepower and torques as well.

Hopefully Lexus will make this 3rd generation Lexus IS250/350 more sporty and enjoyable to drive as well than the current models.
