BMW Owned Rolls Royce turned the tables on Maybach in 2006 to become the top-rated ultra-luxury automobile.

I think that Bentley has done better after the split.

chewy are you high or something... Bentley can barely sell their current Continental Flying Spur ... the main problem is Vw influence in over production ... Bentley is " supposed to be a very exclusive and limited production brand ". VW has basically single handledly bastard the car ... The Flying Spur is an amazing car, just unfortunately they are owned by the same company that brought us the $90k Phaeton ... Our Bentley dealer down the street has about 30 lying Spurs in stock ...

If I can read correctly (can I?) 8,627 worldwide and 3,654 in the US in 2005. That looks very good for 150k (probably about 200k in real retail price) priced cars.

The Phantom's dashboard looks very old styled to me. The Bentleys looks much more modern in my eyes. I am not sure about the rear (the place where the owners seat)as you do have to seat to find out, but the two look ver similar. But, the real question is, why are you running away, you talkied about sales but then switched to interiors?

I have been in a Rolls before but not a Bentley. It was the most quiet ride ever. Stares from every cab rider, cyclist, pedestrian, and obviously other road users. I felt like I was a movie star or a powerful politician riding in a prestigious piece of auto craftsmanship. The leather is as soft as it can ever be. The suspension soaks up any bumps there are in the road.

BMW and MB have quiet rides as well but a Rolls is in a totally different category. Maybach however I have not sat in it, but I have been told it is very comfortable as well.

See, it's hard to say which brand you want more because for English business people they'll turn to their British car. Whereas a German would go for the likes of Maybach. It's the style of the cars that appeal to two different age groups of this ULTRA-WEALTHY class.

Well, he was taling about sitting inside, I thik that refers to interiors. How have I lost it? I am just having a discussion about some cars. The point is that the Rolls isn't seling nearly as well as the Bentley. It might be more luxurious, but it hasn't been successful.

But for the time being the really was no difference between a Rolls and flying B. They had the same body style and really the same interior offerings. Only when they came out with the new Phantom did they take top honors. But like other people have said, it's a little more common to see a Bentley on the road.

Money coming out of my pockets aside, I love driving and could not spend money on a car like that AND drive it, as I've seen around 'here'.

I'd be happy with an Audi A8, LS600h or Mercedes S-Class. Maybach, Bentley or RR are way to oppulent for my tastes.

Rolls Royce did well, however BMW totally botched Land Rover and almost went bankrupt in the process. They had to sell of to Ford at a huge loss to keep it from pulling them under. Not everything BMW does turns to gold.

Like everything else, each of these cars has thier own unique personality and should not really be compared. Get which ever one yu can afford and enjoy it. It is not an either /or type of situation. They are all very different cars. By the way I own a Flying Spur (a wonderful car) and I am awaiting the delivery of my Phantom.

I can't afford Rolls Royce but I can afford to buy any bimmer. I have to say, BMW is no doubt the best company there is for automobiles. GREAT JOB BMW.

the rolls royce sold fewer than 10 cars in britain in the second year of production. the maybach sold 7 i think. neither were commercial successes, but they7 sell very steadily.

Land Rover didnt turn to gold because at that time BMW wasnt gold! But look wat BMW is doing with the RR, I can call that a great job.

Bently isnt a RR competitor since its cheaper by so much. It is also rated in the luxury segment under the RR which tops it. As for those who dream to own a wonderful VW, u can go to the nearest Bently dealer!

Come on..... VW the same as bentley? Soo you say that bugatti is a VW even if it's far better performance car than BMW. How dumb is that? Then my opinion is that mini is the same as BMW.

Somehow the rating of this comparison is questionable. Since these cars are ultra luxo, you can't really have a broad consumer based rating since it is a very limited sector. How many consumers buy these cars? I am not quite sure about the customer experience part and also the highly customized part for the RR. The Maybach has a fully customizable interior from finishes to different leather options, colour and even gadgets (not saying the RR doesn't have it) just that there seems to be more choices for the Maybach. Costumer Experience is World Class tops for both brands so I am nto sure how one can be better than the other.
