Honda Moves NSX And Civic Development And Design To US
Honda America will take the lead in a growing list of global vehicle development projects to help the automaker fend off competitive challenges in North America and hedge against a strong yen.

The U.S. organization will engineer and develop the new-generation Acura NSX sports car, the next-generation Civic compact car, and other models, says Erik Berkman, the new president of Honda R&D Americas.

Berkman says he was appointed to the position in April in part because he likes to play "offense."

I wonder of that NSX will become a hit, or a dud due to Acura's awkward parrot-beak styling. I'm not caring for the car's front and rear end, though the profile looks good.

I had an original NSX for a day (when they were still in production), and returned it. It was underpowered, and as was typical for Honda in the day, the A/C was anemic.

Who buys a sports car for the air conditioning? If you had concerns of the NSX being underpowered, why didn't you research the car?

The fact that you returned it seems like you rented it Steve.

Honda moving NSX and Civic development to the U.S. is a smart move, especially for the Civic. U.S. development should allow them to keep production costs down without diluting the quality or performance.
