Hyundai Chairman Says It Will Be #1 By Being The Most Loved Automaker In The World
Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Mong-koo has big plans for Europe. The 74-year-old billionaire son of Hyundai's founder, Chung Yu-Jung, wants Hyundai to increase its European sales 15 percent to 465,000 vehicles this year, and sister brand Kia is expected to boost its volume 21 percent to 350,000 this year. Chung visited Europe for the first time in March to attend the Geneva auto show Automotive News Europe Editor-in-Chief Luca Ciferri attended a press briefing with Chung where the chairman answered questions provided by Ciferri as well as other Italian journalists.

Do you want Hyundai to be the world's No. 1 automaker?

We will become the global leader, but this might not be in volume. Through quality growth, we will become the global leader by being the most loved car company.

LMAO......... Hey Agent009, you should text or send him Email that April Fool Day is like 4 months ago : ) How can he expect everyone to love his company when they're not very reliable when compare to other Top Dog like Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura, BMW, MB and Audi etc...!

Secondly, Hyundai is borrowing or stealing to much design ideas from other auto company. I currently only own an Infiniti G37 coupe and before that I own a Toyota/Lexus and before that was an American cars. I would buy German or American cars again before I even take a look at Kia or Hyundai.

If Hyundai stop bluntly taking design of other automakers and paste it on their cars and make it more reliable than, ONLY than I will consider buying a Hyundai. But the chance of me buying a Hyundai is very slim to None.

If I can afford any cars I want it would be one of the following car:

2013 Pearl White Nissan GT-R, Audi R8 V10, Aston Martin DBS, V8 Vantage, BMW M3 with a V8 or an Audi RS5.

Having seen all of the adoration and love for Hyundai from 009, why would you blame Hyundai for taking on this approach :-) Personally, I would be frighten, 009s obsessive oh-my-Gawd oh-my-Gawd-isn't-Hyundai-just-a-dream postings remind me of those black and white Beatles female fans' top-of-the-lung scream scenes :-)

Being the most loved automotive marque requires more than building affordable, "quality" cars. It requires people not only identifying with the brand, but that brand also defining the culture and "innovation" in that industry in terms of performance, design, appearance and expectation.

Good luck Hyundai.

Funny thought. But i would Hyundai and Kia are on the right track and can be the next Toyota but the most loved company? Impossible.
