HOW Different Is The New LS Than The Old? Here Is The Side By Side, YOU Decide!
So your buddy next door is set on buying that brand spanking new 2013 Lexus LS.  He quoting all of the details and features and in the back of your mind you are wondering....Is it really, come on now is it THAT big of a difference?

After all the fifth generation LS460 is based on the same chassis as the previous model which debuted in 2006 and has been given a simple refresh and introduced to the press as a much improved new model.  Is it REALLY that different?

Well one of the LS fans over  Club Lexus took the time to do a visual comparison of both the 2012 and 2013 models so you too can see the exterior changes and refinements. Take a hard look these shots and name the refinements you see, they may be harder to find than you think..

To honest, I like the old one better. And the only thing that I would add to the old is that "Check Mark" Shape LED on the front headlight. But other than that it's a very handsome car.

And to me this is more of a Refresh Lexus LS460/hl600 than a total redsign.

The new model looks cheaper for some reason.

It's still only a face lift.

What are you talking about, you can clearly see a difference between BMW models and some Audi models. Lexus cars get more ugly with every redesign. They used to be great looking cars, it's a shame.

So, the rear has gone from an Audi clone to what? A Ford Fusion clone??? Its hard to keep track of who Lexus is copying. It was easier when the LS was a Japanese E-class knock-off.

The LS was an S-class knockoff, not Eclass. Actually, it was more like an S Class clone/wannabe.

And Lexus succeeded!

The changes to the front look like its auditioning for the next sequel to the movie "Cars" ... maybe replacing the "old guy" hudson hornet or whatever that ugly car is.

side by side makes it painfully clear that there's very little new here. same old, same old.

A new front bumper, and they put the LED headlamps from the 600h on it.

Woooo... I'm soooo excited. [/sarcasm]

Refreshed new LS is a significant improvement inside and out. Like the front end styling especially the new grille, bonnet lines, headlights as well as the reworked tail lights and the chrome stripe. Interior is a big improvement as well. Only negative is the now very average V8 engine. Overall very good job by Lexus.
