VIDEO: Soundcheck! Are YOU Missing The BMW M3's V8 Growl OR Do You Find This Six MORE Thrilling?
I am not sure about you guys and dolls out there, but I can not say how much I am NOT a fan of the current, E9x BMW M3.

What can I say, I am a huge fan of the E36 and E46 cars with their naturally aspirated six-cylinder powerplants. While I can comfortably say that it is likely we won't see a naturally aspirated six in the next-gen M3, it is nice to see it will be going back to a six-cylinder engine.

That said, I am sure there will be plenty of fans who are not happy about it. So, let's see what motor wins the vote here, folks:

Does BMW's next-gen M3 sound BETTER or WORSE than the current E9x product?

The 2014 F80 M3 prototype continues hot climate testing in Spain and we continue getting more live looks and listen at the next generation M3 sedan.

Our new video provides a good listen at the M3 prototype accelerating from a stop, though it's obviously not a full out acceleration run...We also hear the car's startup for the first time. One thing's for sure - there will be no lack of baritone and bass sounds coming from the F80's exhaust. Its hearty burble is heard throughout the clip. As with all prototypes, its sound is certainly subject to more tuning.

The F80's ride and suspension looks planted, with little body roll and suspension travel (check out how stiff the suspension appears when the car leaves the car wash).

I'm sure it will deliver tremendous performance, but it does sound a bit wimpy to me. closer to a rice burner

I am not so sure about this new engine but knowing BMW, it will probably outperform the current 8 cylinder. Anyways, I drove my friend's 2011 M3 today from LPGA BLVD in Ormond Beach to Edgewater and the car's sound is just addictive.

Agreed. That is where they shine is with the I6. BTW what the hell is the deal with the squeaky breaks; makes the car sound like a POS!

Very nice of BMW to start a little "viral" marketing for the new M3.

That beautiful V8 exhaust note will be missed.

I think it sounds great, much better than the e46 did. Sounds like a mild aftermarket exhaust. Id like to hear him really get on it to hear what it sounds like then.

Now what they didnt show is a C 63 AMG roaring around the corner, making the M3 sound like a Corolla in comparison.
