Audi A5 convertible to replace A4 cabriolet

The convertible version of the forthcoming Audi A5 two-door will replace the Audi A4 cabriolet, according to Automotive News Europe. While the report is not especially surprising, it confirms Audi plans to keep its model lineup simple and logical. What's more, it suggests the A5 range won't be significantly more expensive than the A4 line.

Cartrash...I doubt it. I'm thinking more Geneva next year.
I think they want to keep Paris for the R8 and the Euro only S3.

it's more logical, it's so it can compete beter with the clk, which is a c class convertible (basically) but gives it more badge clout over the saloon.

Geneva looks most likely now. Parsi will be reserved for the R8 (and possibly S3) Geneva for the A5, and probably Frankfurt for the A4. Can't wait for the A5, it should be good, one report said that it will be a bit bigger than the E90 series coupe.

chewy, re the a5 being bigger than the 3 series.
the clk is also bigger than the c class and 3 series, so perhaps that's where audi is aiming the car.

Probably. That way the rear room will be decent for in the coupe. The A4 is also supposed to grow in size by some amount.

no its not, it's based on the c class, but uses some e class components. thats why the next clk wont be launched till about 2 years after the c.
