McLaren Unique X-1 Concept To Bow This Weekend At Pebble Beach
This is the McLaren Unique X-1, a concept vehicle that will be unveiled this weekend at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
It has been created on commission for a McLaren customer. The client in question already has the McLaren F1, a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and a McLaren MP4-12C. It took three years of hard work.
Development included 625 miles of testing, including two intensive stints at the Idiada circuit in Spain, driven by McLaren chief test driver Chris Goodwin. After testing, it was meticulously rebuilt to concours standard.
All body panels of the Unique X-1 are made from carbon fiber and the vehicle weights about 1400kg.
The X-1 is 4658mm long – 109mm longer than a 12C. Width is 2097mm (with mirrors) – an increase of 188 mm. As expected the X-1 shares the same the major mechanical components as the 12C, including the twin-turbo 625PS engine, giving astonishing acceleration and top speed.

Interesting looking car. Can anything really "astonish" us, speed-wise, after the Veyron?

My goodness, they turned a beautiful car into such an ugly thing! Man there are people out there with so much money to waste, unbelievable.
