I'm going to disagree with you there. As much as I like BMW, the fact that the 325 (as entry level BMW as you can get) is the most requested leads me to believe that people want the car for "status" reasons. "Oh look I drive a BMW", when really it's the lowest level BMW you can get, and a lease usually drops the monthly price more. My guess is the same for the corvette, using the lease approach to have a lower monthly payment.

The BMW 325i offers fantastic build quality, a luxurious yet sporty ride, an excellent engine (the 325i is actually very quick) not to mention free maintenance and all the perks of owning a BMW.

And because of their stellar resale value, you dont lose as much money as you would with a similar priced car. BMW's lease rates are phenomenal. Because their cars really hold their value over the years.

I think this proves that some car buyers know that a BMW stripped of all the overdone techno garbage and pricey options is still a fantastic pure sport sedan.

I would buy a 325i over an Acura TL or Infiniti G35 even though those cars offer lots more for the price.

Im tired of this "status" crap........people buy BMWs because theyre just great cars. Period.

BMWs are great cars, but so are Acura/Hondas.

BMWRocks - You have really become the BMW cheerleader around these blogs. Do you also sleep in your BMW as well? I would choose the Acura TL/Audi A4, which offers more and cost less, just so I wouldn't be placed in the same category as shallow ones such as yourself. Every post that is on this site worship those damn "propelors" and hearing you hooray every article is so annoying.

Im not trying to rain on your parade, I just enjoy a good "unbias" approach to information in the auto industry.

When will you understand? BMW is better in several categories. Go to caranddriver.com and read the comparison test. I’m too lazy and I don’t have the time to type all the things that the BMW does better.

As far as speed is concerned? The TL doesn’t put any fear in my heart when I see them. The TL is barley quicker than the 330i. There would be more of a difference between the drivers then the actual cars themselves. And since Acura TL owners aren’t enthusiasts, I have no problem driving around them.

As far as your BMW owners comments. You are entitled to your opinion. This isn’t my opinion but; “Acura TL owners purchased the Acura because they couldn’t afford a BMW. “TL owners are people who are looking to save a buck and they believe what they can afford, is better than what they cannot afford”. Not my opinion.

My Opinion of TL owners is this. The only folks that I see driving TLs looks like dweebs. Bill Gates type looks (not an once of cool anywhere on their body)

Are the Automotive Mags "Biased"? They seem to like the 3-series more than the TL. Live with it. And yes the TL is a nice car, you just wont find one in my driveway.

Aren't 60% of luxury cars leased anyway? So going off of this average it won't matter which luxury brand you choose 60% of the cars will be leased, approximately. Of course actual numbers are going to be different, we don't live in an ideal society. Also not only on leasecompare.com, MSN Autos list the 3 series as the most popular vehicle in its luxury segment.

Hey chewy....Audi did not make the list. Your response to that is...?

Don't know why, exactly. That might be part of what's holding them back vs. BMW.
