CAR WARS! So, Would YOU Rather Something Built For SPEED or Built For COMFORT?

CAR WARS! So, Would YOU Rather Something Built For SPEED or Built For COMFORT?
While that not exactly make sense when you're comparing two vehicles with over 500 horsepower, you just have to do a bit more digging around. On paper, the BMW M3 VF650 supercharged and the Cadillac CTS-V that has been modified by Hennessey are complete animals.

One would suspect that they'd be relatively close in a drag race showdown; however, the video below shows otherwise.

I'll let you stick around and find out the result.

But here's where the interesting bit comes into play. Would you prefer a vehicle that's built moreso for the track and a bit more focused -- like the BMW M3 -- OR would you rather have something that's a bit cushier and laid back?

Keep in mind that's relatively speaking as both vehicles are modified and producing over the 500 horsepower mark.

This video comparison comes to us from Brazil courtesy of Full Power Magazine. These two cars grace the cover of their August issue. The M3 has a VF650 supercharger kit and we have seen the weaker VF620 put down 521 wheel horsepower on 91 octane. The exact modifications on the CTS-V are not given but it is stated to have around 650 horsepower as well with Hennessey upgrades so likely just a tune, pulley, and exhaust upgrade.

The numbers in the video are given in CV (cheval vapeur) units which is a French unit of power measure that closely correlate with horsepower units. 1 CV is .986 horsepower. On paper according to the magazine the cars have similar horsepower. In practice, the M3 dusts the CTS-V rather easily. Kind of surprising to see the M3 pull this hard on a tuned CTS-V which is why we would like to have the exact specs the Caddy.

We also do not know which transmission the M3 has but we assume the dual clutch trans.

If you want to sell the volume, it has to be both comfort and speed at a reasonable price.

...I like what Lexus is doing to those super smooth rides, give'em some good road dynamics at the same time you still have that Lexus quality and refinement. Way to go Lexus. So, yeah I'd prefer the smooth ride as my standard.

In California the Democrats have had total control for as long as I can remember and our roads are terrible. But yet we seem to have money to give to illegals for a free colledge education, welfare, food stamps, free cell phones and you don't have to show a legal I.D. to vote. And now our president has allowed amnesty to thousands which is a slap in the face to those that have followed the law.

I would like smooth ride with a hint of speed. Most of the time I prefer smooth ride but once in a while I like the speed. However i would love to have precise control all the time.

If I wanted something with 500+ bhp that was built for comfort I'd prefer a RR Ghost.
