Toyota Makes Good On Promise Of Excitement - Announces 2013 Auris TRD
Toyota’s in-house tuner TRD has pulled the wraps off its latest creation, an upgrade package for the new Auris generation, which was named the Modellista.

The paint isn’t even dry yet on the new generation of the Toyota Auris, as some people would say, but that didn’t stop TRD to develop the first aftermarket package for the Japanese hatchback and, after the model was officially presented to the public a couple of days ago, it’s entering our news once again. For the moment, the upgrade package for the 2013 Toyota Auris developed by TRD is presented as extra gear for the local Japanese market, but the upgrades are expected to arrive on other markets soon.com

After reading the article I'm a little embarrass to said that I am Lexus fan. So they added some new body kit and give it 2 more hp? Wow....!

You would've think with all the money they have they can pump in a turbo under this car and give 40-50 hp and 30-50 more pound feet of torque.

This is very embarrass just like their Toyota Corolla S. Shame on you Toyota. You just brought out the Scion FR-S and now you got to mess it up with this Cheessy shit.

Toyota makes good on what? I agree with Lexus,it needs a turbo and it had better handle well. Then again if they throw in some supeduper cool gizmos and apps and some funky purple interior lighting in the cupholders the sheep will come running! Good job Toyota!!!!

@SHINDEN,

I don't get it either bro. I know a lot of consumers are willing to to buy a car or sports car with a turbo directly from the manufacture because it come with better warranty versus the aftermarket turbo.

Everyone is going turbo so I don't understand why they're Not doing it especially, with their cars that has the Cheesy S logo it. Their Supra back in the 90s even has a twinturbo so I don't why not using a turbo on all of their sports car line up.

They need to add more than 2 hp if they are going to call this a TRD. You don't see BMW/Lexus Mercedes ETC having M, F, and AMG cars with only 2 more HP, Cadillacs CTS-v doesn't just have a few upgrades and only 2 more HP. They need to step it up if TRD is ever going to be taken seriously when it comes to Performance. Everytime I see TRD I think body kit and minor suspension enhancements.

Umm....are you comparing this entry level Toyota to BMW/Lexus/Mercedes and Callidac? This is a Toyota Matrix. Relax.

I'm not comparing Toyota to BMW/Merc?caddy, Subarus Impreza WRX doesn't just have 2 more HP, the forester 2.5GT doesn't either, it has quite a bit more power than the standard forester. The Chevy cruze SS didn't just have 2 more hp, Neon SRT4, Mazdaspeed 3 didn't either. In face, Id say Toyota needs to take a lesson from Mazdaspeed. I can name many more. The reason I named them was for example only and because how significant these performance lines define the product line and separate them from the run of the mill normal models. TRD needs to be a true performance line/trim for enthusiasts to take them seriously, not just stickers and wheels. It should mean real performance significantly better than the regular version in both handling and acceleration.
