Supercar Vs The Avant-Garde - Has The LF-LC Stolen The Thunder From The LF-A?

Supercar Vs The Avant-Garde - Has The LF-LC Stolen The Thunder From The LF-A?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and to the majority of us both the Lexus LF-A and LF-LC are excellent examples of elemental sports car styling.

Penned over a decade ago the LF-A underwent various conceptual changes before it’s production debut in early 2011.  Sleek, modern, and brutally aggressive, the LF-A immediately won the hearts of many an enthusiast.  But, with only minor revisions since the first concept first debuted in 2005, many also wondered if the abnormally long gestation period had taken its toll with a somewhat dated appearance.

Enter the LF-LC on the 2012 car show circuit we see that Lexus had learned its lessons and revised the theme with a sophisticated younger sister.  The LF-LC it seemed to many sported the refinement the older sister was lacking.  Sleek styling with the unmistakable lines of the LF-FA the LF-LC was a far more modern interpretation of the theme.

Whip out your note pads, watch the side by side video below and keep score and tell us which one wins your vote.

Which do you prefer, brutal aggressiveness of the older sister or seductive charm of the younger?

Well, sorry to say, but the glorified Celica never really had thunder to begin with. It didn't really transcend the other cars in the class, despite the bloated sticker price.

Its ashame that these cars are considered "Halo" cars for Toyota. It definitely has absolutely ZERO significance in the world of automobiles and in terms of supercars, it is really not one...

Who's "the majority of us" who think these are excellent examples of sports car styling? Yuck. Especially the red one. Seriously. Yuck!

I was blown away at how much bigger the LF-LC was compared to the LFA; I thought they were the same size. Look for the Australian auto show for info released on the power to come from the LF-LC. There are some general power train specs in the Lexus Australia press release, which describes the new concept as a 370 kilowatt (496+ hp), all-wheel drive hybrid coupe.

...Yep, You (-knowitall1985) me and hundreds of millions overwhelmingly think the LF-LC is one of the best looking cars EVER! So much so that Lexus said because of the overwhelming feedback and the smash-hit status of the LC, they will bring this car to production. Man, if most of us listened to -cidflekken,ThierryHenry14 and Steve we'd get evicted from the planet leaving only haters here to stifle creativity.

I don't suppose its in anyone's best interest to say "because of the underwhelming lack of interest..." Of course a company will always say that they received overwhelming feedback... thats just dumb. I guess only you would be so honest as to say, well, people didn't like this design, we failed and made a mistake...

Its just called marketing...

I would hardly call the LF-A insignificant. While I am mpre particular to European cars the LF-A is one of my all time top dream cars. That engine is phenomenal. It revs insanely fast, and sounds like a Formula One car.
