STUD OR DUD? 2014 BMW 4-Series Gran Coupé Caught During Testing

These are the first spy pictures of the new BMW 4-series Gran Coupé. The sleek new four-door, tentatively due for a 2014 launch, is essentially a scaled-down 6-series Gran Coupé on 3-series mechanicals.

At first glance, the test mule spied last week in Germany could be mistaken for a 3-series GT, due for a reveal in concept form at the Paris motor show next month.

However, the shorter overhangs and cabin, the sleeker roofline and the narrower glasshouse instead reveal this to be BMW’s answer to the Audi A5 Sportback.

3GT is more of a crossover. It has more space and a sligthly higher ride hight.

Yeh seems like 3GT will compete with the A4 version of the Allroad and the 5GT competes with the A6 (Europe) version of the Allroad. But then the CLS Shooting brake comes in and what is the competition for that? o.0
