Honda Sues!

Honda Sues!
Honda has decided to sue the Chinese for their copy of the CR-V named the SR-V.
They even copied the name, it's amazing.

We'll have to see what happens with that, but no matter what, good for Honda!

if the Chinese want to enter the world market, they have to start playing by the same rules.

i support their decision. Even if they win (they should) I doubt the copying will stop.

Yeah it sucks to just have all of your work copied like that, but this is what the Chinese are good at. Copy and remake cheaper. These manufacturers should be forced to use their designes. I wonder what ever happened to the Toyota lawsuit against another Chinese company which copied their "T" sign. I wonder if anything will happen at all.

Honda is just worried because China will come to the usa and undersell them just like the Japaneese market did to the US market

IamEvil - What do you mean, where is this copying that you speak of? You guys said that same thing about Daewoo, they were suppose to come over and take over. Where are they now? Now I have seen simaliar designs in manufacturers products that is just too close. Its like they wanted to be sued by Honda.

Just like every other brand that comes to the US market, they will have to work thier way up just like every brand did. I don't think Honda has anything to worry about. But Im curious to know how the Japanese have copied the Germans...

Honda??? How does it feel to have an excellent seller copied and marketed by some one else at a far lower price? Remember the "golden rule" boys. You guy did it first, pay back is hell.

As much as I think the Japanese are a cut and paste society. I think Honda needs does need to go after them.

The Japanese have never copied the Germans. The Germans see the Japanese vehicles as a threat and make up fake threats that are perfectly legal.

a common charge nowadays is other car companies copying the (in)famous Bangle Butt.

1. no sane designer would repeat outright ugliness
2. that Bangle Butt was not totally original; it was itself a crude rendition of a theme that first appeared in:
3. the nissan maxima of about 2 generations back, which FIEST featured the sloping roof/rear window with a clean line down to the bumper curve. this line "passed thru" the general rectangular body form.

continuation of the roof/window curve is more just SUGGESTED, with a break at the body form. but a profile or 3/4 rear view makes the line apparent. it is THIS design theme that is today much copied.

4. the bangle butt was a cruder rendition, with the trunk bumped up further. it has since been cleaned up a little.
(making it the germans who copied the japanese!)

There is no evidence that japanese carmakers copied german cars, some japanese carmakers produce european with licence of the europeans.

Do you really know IamEvilHomer what the real facts are???? In WorldWar2 a man came with the idea to make an people car a cheap/produced car, the name Volkswagen, the type MaiKafer/Beetle came from Josef Ganz. Nazi's Ferdinand Porsche and Adolf Hitler stole this all from him and set the men Ganz in prison because he was a jew.

After the war Ganz want his work back but Porsche laughing him in his face out.

Porsche was a Nazi, first VW factory has always denied these facts but after years of pression they said now, Porsche was interested and had put some designs in the beetle.

We hope that the documents stolen by true car lovers to set and publish these facts all over the world.
