VIDEO: Spies Do A Quick Review Of The 2013 Audi S4 And Throw In A Bonus Fashion Preview For Your Labor Day
Agent 001 of AutoSpies.com was live in studio this Labor Day doing a quick review of the 2013 Audi S4 sedan + an added bonus of some pretty ladies from San Diego's Fashion Vally Mall doing a Fall Fashion Preview with the S4.

The S4 is offered with the award-winning Supercharged 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, DOHC engine
that generates an exhilarating 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. To ensure exceptional
grip and performance, the S4 has quattro all-wheel drive standard.

An available rear sport differential uses torque vectoring to propel the S4 through turns and
offers even more grip and cornering ability for the driving enthusiast as well as in the event
of an accident avoidance situation. The torque split of the quattro system for both models
is 40 percent front/60 percent rear with a maximum load of 65 percent for the front and
85 percent for the rear axle.

S4 at a glance:

3.0 TFSI quattro six-speed manual 333 hp, 325 lb-ft torque —— $47,600 $53,850
3.0 TFSI quattro seven-speed S tronic® 333 hp, 325 lb-ft torque —— $49,000 $55,250

It will be trying to, no previous 335 even with twin turbos could quite match the S4.

The E90 BMW 335is only came in coupe form. The standard 335, and also 335is coupe beat the S5 on a number of occasions, but BMW never offered an IS version of the E90 sedan.

Anyway the S4 was always a little more hardcore than the standard 335i sedan. The S4 has quad exhausts, stiff suspension, large bucket seats, chrome looking side mirrors, and S4 badges everywhere, which made it a little more boy racer...and this is reflected in sales where the 335 out sells the S4 handily, b/c most people just want a standard 3 with six cylinder power, without the racer parts.

On the F30 series 335 sedan, BMW will offer a new M335i replacing the IS moniker to take the S4 on head to head. It will be a little more hardcore than the standard 335 which they will still make, and is very popular with the average consumer. The M335i will be the enthusiasts choice, as it will bridge the gap between the standard 335, and more hardcore M3, and will allow BMW to take S4 head on without having to sacrifice standard 335i sales. This will allow the average consumer of the 3 series, and the enthusiast, to both have their 3 series, six cylinder cake and eat it too.

"Do you have actual data to support this speculation?? It says 's4' on the grill and back bumper, otherwise it is pretty indistinguishable from an A4...Not to mention that "most people" don't even oredr the 335, letalone is...as the 328 represents an overwhelming amount of sales, which is now a 4-banger."

LOL, do you have actual data to support this speculation that most 3 series are 328s?...eer no? I’m sure a lot are 328's, just like most A4's are 2.0Ts. Anyway Going by the 3 series overwhelming sales numbers over the A4 in the US...Also I live in the North East and see a few S4s every now and then, but 335s are much more common from what I have noticed, and I’m sure the actual numbers would confirm this..but no I have to facts to support or deny it.. just like you, but I would put money on it.

" Yet the 335is uses an M-like front and rear and blacked out grill and mirrors. "

..and the 335is is not the only six cylinder 3 series BMW offers, they offer the standard 335 which doesn’t have the flashy bits. Where as they only way you can get a six cylinder in an A4 is in the S4 which has chrome side mirrors and quad exhausts, S4 badges front and back, also on the brake calibers, which are not so subtitle, and stiffer suspension than a standard 335.

Nice review. I have a 2010 S4. Didn't think they could improve it, but the 2013 is a great upgrade. These blown engines are great for low end torque. Just miss the V8 sound...
