VIDEO: CAR WARS! Audi A7 vs. BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe
As we've continued to note, the biggest automotive feud right now is going on between two German marques, Audi and BMW. The reason is simple.

Both automakers build great products that straddle performance and luxury. And if you've been following the luxury vehicle market, that's exactly what everyone is trying to emulate. Take, for example, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz, both of whom have radically changed their luxury leanings to feature more of a sporty vibe.

As 009 reported earlier today though, Audi is starting to put the heat on BMW with its sales. And as I brought to you yesterday, Audi has become the "it" brand for San Francisco's start-up elite.

What better way to see which all-new product from both manufacturers than by putting them head-to-head? A friend of AutoSpies, Brian Cooley, of CNET is undoubtedly one of the best presenters. Watch him "check the tech," and give you the full lowdown on the Audi A7 and BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe.

Question is: Which four-door coupe would YOU want in your driveway?

There's a 3-way feud going on in German automotive world and there's no clear winner. The 3 Series appears to be the clear entry-level winner. The A6 appears to be the clear mid-level winner. The S-Class seems to be the king of the flagships. The 6Series appears to be the best coupe. The SL has no true competitors. The SLK seems to be getting the most positive feedback of the roadsters. MB's AMG and Audi' S lines seem to be gaining ground on or besting BMW's M cars. The X5 is probably the best mid-size SUV. The GL is the best large-size SUV. Not sure who has the best small SUV. The R8 dominates the SLS.

And between the Gran Coupe, A7 and CLS, each has won their share of critical and commercial success, so it's hard to say who the clear winner is at this point. Sales-wise, the A7 in the US is slightly ahead of the CLS for the year, but it's also priced much lower. And the GCs price is the highest of the trio.

BMW by far. Its gorgeous at every angle. The Audi looks odd behind the cabin. The I don't like a droopy ass in cars or women.

Lets face this..most of the people like the GC but also most of the people think that it does not worth that price....Most would pay that for the Panamera or even CLS but not seeing it as Luxury brand is the main disadvantage...

And let me clarify: I see BMW as a luxury brand...

CLS all day and night, the A7's hatchback is already showing age, and the 6 series Gran Coupe looks like exactly what it is, the overweight, overgrown sibling of the 6 series coupe.

CLS 550 please

I do see your point, but I disagree with you that the A7 is already showing age... I think that the design is purposely done in a way that it stands out and since there are no precedence... I still think its an eye catching car...

As an A7 owner, I can say the car looks WAY more amazing in person than any photo I've ever seen of it. With that being said, I've seen 2 Gran Coupes in person and it is a great looking car. I will say they both look great and each brings something different to the table in terms of design. The Audi, though, the hatch design and folding seats, BY FAR the most innovative thing in this class. It's absolutely amazingly functional without a trade-off.

I have to agree with wcbrown. when i first saw the A7 in pics, I thought it was pretty mundane. But, in person, this car is just outright sexy. I will say, the direct profile view is the most unflattering, but the rest is just jaw-dropping.

That being said, the same goes for the CLS. In pics it looks busy and ungainly. But in person, it has amazing road presence, and makes everything else around it look boring.

I will also say that the 6Series coupe looks stunning in person, much better than pics can show. So, I can't wait to see the GC out on the road.

The MOST phenomenally designed sedan today is the Aston Rapide. That thing is an orgasm on wheels.

Agreed... As with most cars, I feel the pictures will never do it justice. I just feel the A7 has so much more road presence and attracts more eyes than the 6GC...

As for the CLS, every time I see one go by, I cannot help but to stare and follow it with my eyes. That car definitely has such a sexy design that beats out both the A7 and the 6GC...

But with anything that all three companies put out, there may be winners, but there really isn't a loser...

6GC takes the cake on looks. It made the A7 look very boring on the video above. CLS also looks amazing in person.

I have seen both cars in person. I loved the A7 when it first came out, but in front of the 6 GC (especially the M sport version), It looks too "normal". 6GC even looks better in person than the CLS, which I have never thought it could be.
