Who in their right mind would pick this over a Toyota Avalon? The Toyota Avalon is much nicer than this.

Disagree, based on reviews, the Genesis V8 R-Spec (0-60 in 5 sec, 429HP) is much much better than the Avalon in so many ways. Avalon does not even have a "sport" version. Which explains why it's $46,000.

I was comparing the V6 Hyundai Genesis. Toyota (including Lexus) doesn't have anything to compete with the Genesis V8 R-Spec.

Avalon is a Front wheel drive wet sponge compared to this. This is a RWD sedan that is far more balanced and nimble than the nose heavy understeer prone Avalon. Avalon cannot touch this unless you are a senior citizen looking for the softest most plush ride and don't care about handling or sportiness.

When you buy Toyota you're really paying for the build quality and resale of the cars. Toyota is more reliable than the Hyundai and Kia for sure.
