STUD OR DUD? Covers Blown Off The BMW 1 Series GT Concept Ahead Of Paris!
The online reveal for the FWD 1 Series GT (Compactive Tourer) concept is imminent (stay tuned...), so has a European magazine just leaked the first image? The image doesn't seem to have the artificial qualities and proportions that most speculative renders have and is extremely detailed, so this may be a true leak of the actual concept 1 Series GT.

For a preview of what the rear tail lights will look like, that can be seen in these recently leaked designs.

The FWD 1 Series GT or "Compactive Tourer," as it has been referred to will be the first model in BMW's upcoming lineup of FWD 1 series cars. It will make its world public premiere at the 2012 Paris autoshow late this month. The FWD 1 series models will ride on the UKL platform, which they will share with the upcoming MINI models. The production 1 Series GT Compactive Tourer will hit the market sometime in 2013.

Looks pretty good. It should match up nicely with the A/B class, and A3.

I like the lights, they look more agressive than the standard 1 series. Also if that 26,000 euro price on the pic is accurate it will be priced slightly above the base five door (rwd) 1 series.

Overworked in the front but not bad, a good competition for the A class..

If it's real, then BMW really needs to go easy on the hood creases! too many lines flying in multiple directions (I say they just get rid of all the inner ones and keep only the outer pair like it used to be; nice, clean "sea of metal").

Agree HoustonMidtown, just sad sad sad... they are becoming the Toyota of Germany. Trying to get into every niche market, make every variant etc... losing focus on being the Ultimate Driving Machine... They should have expanded the Mini line to do the FWD thing...

Mini sales don't count in BMW's sales #'s. I've said repeatedly I hate the idea of chasing volume crowns when you're a luxury marque, but I'm in the minority -- when every fifth car article is about Audi overtaking BMW, it puts into perspective just how important it is to have product in those lower end segments. If Audi has an A1/A2 and Mercedes has an A-Class/B-class, BMW will have cars in those segments as well.
