There are other reasons to buy a hybrid you know.

Some people buy them so the money for the oil they buy doesn't goto regimes like Venezuela, Iran, Syria, Russia and other dictatorships heavily dependant on oil money.

It doesn't matter if it costs me a little money for them to get a lot less money.

cliff, those are the same reasons as to buy either a smaller car, or a diesel, or any more fuel efficient vehicle.
hybrids aren't the future, they're a stop-gap

I am sure I'd like the GS450h too. But what is often not said is that the hybrid is more efficient within the city, not in rural areas. A truly efficient hybrid would not be a gasoline-hybrid, but a diesel-hybrid. Perhaps in the future, we'll have fuel-cell-hybrids or hydrogen-hybrids...
