Jeep is an American Icon if ever there was one. While they have been assembled elsewhere over the years Chrysler needs to be very careful about design and sourcing outside the USA. They could harm their most precious brand. Fix It Again Tony Jeeps won't fly in the states.

I could not disagree with you more. The Fiat brass are not stupid. They know the American market and American design. The've learned from owning Chrysler what the public wants to say "American" on it. Jeep is
an iconic brand. Fiat is not going to muck it up by putting Italian
styling cues on it. Most likely the car will be designed and engineered in the US but produced in Italy to keep their factory from being idle.

Fiat 500 was such an unimpressive car, no power and cheap materials... Why anyone buys one is beyond me.
