Magna Explains How Active Grille Shutters Work
The 2013 Ram 1500 is the first popular vehicle in North America to get active grille shutters, but it won't be the last.

According to Magna (the company that designs and builds the active shutter module for Chrysler-Fiat), there are 4 more vehicles that will get active shutters, one of which would see to be the new Dart.

The benefits of active grille shutters are improved aerodynamics and quicker engine warm-up time, both of which improve fuel economy.

Finally, Magna says that the active grille shutter system is most beneficial on bigger vehicles...which means we're going to see this on more trucks and SUVs as CAFE restrictions get tougher.

LOL. Designers make grills bigger every year but now they are going to try to make them more aero?
