I love BMWs and have driven the X6, I think it is a wasteful endeavor for Mazda to make a version of their own. The X6 doesn't sell that well and even if I had $100k for a semi-useless Utility Vehicle, I wouldn't waste my money on this type of vehicle. Just make a useful utility that is a canyon carver and slightly sportier than normal (Paceman from MINI does this).

What a true statement. Sometimes it seems that the auto industry, in this case, Mazda, is guided by people, who doesn't have the minimal idea of what they're doing.
How can you possibly say, that you want to built a vehicle inspired by a product that has not succeeded in sales, appearance, and that doesn't meet the purposes for what it was created.

Well, BMW doesn't produce a lot of them, so of course they aren't going to sell a lot. Look at the resale value and tell me people don't want them. When a 2008 50i goes for about $45-$50k with 50,000 miles on it, I would say that is one of the best resale values of any car.
It's not $100k either. Most people get the 35i around $65k.
