Toyota Motor Corp's China sales fell about 40 percent in September from the year before, while those of rivals such as Hyundai and BMW jumped, underscoring how badly Japanese brands have been hit by a territorial row between the two countries.

....Trust me, it wont sink the Titanic (Toyota) even if sales for Toyota in China were down %90. America is still where the gold is for Toyota and I'm pretty sure it will always be their gold mine for many, many reasons.

You cannot remain a dominant global player without a share of Chi9nese market...its just too damn big and growing fast. Without it you will loose scale and become noncompetitive. In addition, if can happen to the Japanese it can happen to others...
