Are We REALLY Ready For Autonomous Vehicles?
The rush toward driverless cars by Golden State lawmakers needs to be tempered by the growing risks the technology poses to auto makers, a leading manufacturer group says.

Hours after Gov. Jerry Brown signs a bill authorizing state regulations for autonomous vehicles by 2015, the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, whose members account for 77% of all car and light-truck sales in the U.S., warns of the need to go slow.

“If the state’s intention is to promote autonomous vehicles, all the concerns – like liability – need to be properly addressed in advance or we can expect a bumpy road ahead,” the group says in a statement.

Can you imagine the roads when half the cars drive themselves and half are driven by people...look out. What happens when a thrill seeking hopped up teenage driver decides to have some fun with a self driven car in the next lane !!!!!

I'll drive my own car thank you. As far as non-enthusiasts, they are better off not driving as they do nothing but cut you off, don't pay attention and get in the way. sounds good to me. Just teach the car to move over to the right when faster traffic approaches from the rear and we will be all set.
