Consumer Reports Latest Reliability Study Has Audi Moving To 8th Place As Ford Plunges To Bottom

Ford Motors Co.'s Ford and Lincoln brands continued their plummet in Consumer Reports' annual Auto Reliability Survey released Monday. The consumer magazine cited problems with the Dearborn automaker's new vehicles and its problematic MyFord and MyLincoln Touch infotainment systems.

"Ford's bumpy road can be seen in the numbers," Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, said in a statement. "Sixty percent of Ford-branded models and half of Lincolns were below average in predicted reliability, and none placed above average."

Ford finished 27th among 28 car brands. Lincoln finished 26th. Survey findings are based on owner experiences with 1.2 million vehicles.

Such Bullshit. It says Automakers were rated on average PREDICTED reliability scores. It is the worst magazine ever. How about ACTUAL NUMBERS.

Fijian....the numbers are based on reality. But obviously you didn't read the article as usual.

And I "predict" that this useless magazine (CR) and its report will have zero impact on vehicle sales from MB, BMW, AUDI....
I also "predict" that TOYOTA will lead the market with RECALLS.
Isn't AUDI, MINI, VW, HYUNDAI all setting sales records?
Maybe their "prediction crystal ball" is malfunctioning.

Maybe your ability to ready is malfunctioning. Reliability isn't the only thing that people take into account when they buy a car. Consumer reports is listing cars here based on reliability. They ALSO grade vehicles on other metrics that sometimes show different manufacturers scoring much higher in driving dynamics (BMW,Audi etc) or style (Hyundai). But for this very specific article has nothing to do with recalls....nothing to do with desire. Just reliability.

Darn shame. I was hoping Ford continuing to gain ground as I like their current line up as well as their adoption of the European models to the N America market. I hope this doesn't disrupt that globalization modus operandi.

I think the way they do it recalls do not affect reliability.

....If you recall mr USNA1999, it was Toyota who took a wicked fall from false accusers a few years ago and to everyone's surprise they came back with real integrity and even better products than before. Most likely that very same integrity which, I believe, they always had from the get go. Trust me, the people who are genuinely loyal Toyota and Lexus buyers are thoroughly convinced at this point their products are second to none and aint looking back!
