...Give me a break! Do you think in your wildest dream that Toyota would be so blind to such an important market it that were really true. I'd rather believe the Chinese are responding out of envy or indifference. Like I said, dont believe the hype even if it appears it's coming from Toyota's headquarters. They are playing their cards as they are being dealt to them. The relations between the Chinese and Japanese are forever sensitive and will remain that way like forever!

When the U.S. and China go to war, Buicks probably won't be on top of the Chinese' shopping list. "Look at me, I'm Western" SUVs probably will be though.

I'd like to also think Walmart will practically go bankrupt but seeing how stupid Americans generally are, it's not likely and they'll continue to buy "Made In China" as long crap is cheap, even if their kids are being shot at overseas.

well that's a pointless article. starting off talking about the islands crisis, then complaining that toyota didn't read the china market well because china does not like the yaris, and has not since 2008. I got news for you. toyota must be failing the US market, because we dont much care for the Yaris either. ugh.

Woah..... Ease up Lex. Are you new here? I'm Toyota's biggest supporter. My post is called sarcasm. The Yaris clearly trails its class in the US. Its sales, however, are such a small blip of what Toyota sells, that the number HAS NOT caused Toyota to fail.

Which is why the story here is so lame. Using the Yaris as anexample is meaningless. In China and in the US.
