Appreciation is the first step towards a better Autospies community

With all the bickering going on I think the first step to solving all these childish arguements is to have owners of all vehicles whether it be Lexus, BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Audi accept the fact that the competition is indeed better than their favorite brand in certain categories.

I'm glad to see BMW fans accept the fact that when it comes to interior design they are simply not as good as Audi.

I'm glad to see Audi fans accept the fact that when it comes to driver feedback, feel and purity of driving experience even the RS4 can't match the M3. For that matter none of the Audi models can match their respective BMW counterparts for performance as a whole (including steering feel, handling, braking, acceleration, etc..)

Mercedes owners know that their quality has suffered but Mercedes still does what it has always done best and that is create luxury gt cruisers with immensely powerful engines with the AMG line and the ability to make mince meat out of the competition in straight line acceleration. Of course, we know you don't get a Mercedes for a track because a BMW or a Porsche or even an Audi for that matter will wipe the floor with even Mercedes' most powerful 65 AMG models when it comes to track times. In straight-line acceleration Mercedes still wins albeit, it is one of the most uninvolving thrusts you will ever experience.

It is high time for us all to accept that we can't be the best at everything...only some things.

Belittling Mercedes hmm.. did you not read that in a straight-line Mercedes still wins although it clearly is not as involving as BMW or an Audi would be.

Maybe posting more open ended questions would be a better idea to making a blanket statements. This doesn't alienate immediately and discussion tends to be more objective. The arguments might get as heated later on, but not have the hostility from the get go. I often wonder what a newbie must think once they read the old timers rants and raves.

No one needs to accept that which is subjective. To each their own. If you think nothing drives like a Camry, so be it; but if you want to argue, present your statements like an adult. As far as I'm concerned, when one resorts to name calling, they've lost the argument and rendered their point nonsensical.

BTW, you just said that no Audi is superior to their BMW counterpart, but the RS4 posts better numbers in almost all categories, overall it would be better, as it does more things better. Also, as I said this kind of posts are not really helping.

MercBasher - 95% of my posting are viewpoints of other authors. I will post a bash of Hybrids for example, then the next day a favorable review of another hybrid model. I favor Audi's, but I will be the first to report a bad review of one as well. My posts are aimed to spur discussion. I do not resort to senseless slamming of an individual, in case you haven't noticed. But I will point out if they are wrong or out of line in their comments. I dish it out, but I do take it alot of time too.

I agree. Less blanket statments and more open ended questions pertaining to actual issues between companies..........you know, like Audi workers could kick BMW workers butt any day of the week. And Lexus workers wear pink tutu's. :)
