iPad Mini Sells Out In Two Hours. And It's ALREADY Made It Into The Dash Of A Car. First Video And Info.
Just hours after the iPad mini went on sale, car audio specialists are already installing it in the dashboards of cars. This example, first noticed by 9to5Mac, was installed in a 2012 Toyota Corolla by Soundwaves of Tampa.

The install uses the iPad mini to play Pandora and iHeartRadio through a previously installed audio system. However, because the iPad mini with LTE isn't yet available, the car most likely has a MiFi hotspot installed inside somewhere for a mobile data connection.
The Spies ask is this the beginning of the end of systems like this from  auto manufacturers?

Will the iPad Mini do "Turn by Turn" directions in this car installation?

I think the Nexus 7 tablet will do that using Google Maps.

This one won't because the LTE versions don't come out for a couple more weeks.

I could actually see getting the Nexus 7 just for the car since it is cheap and doesn't have to do much - then the iPad Mini for regular personal use. Either way this is very cool stuff!
