New Toyota Matrix M-Theory

Also arriving in August is the new 2007 special edition Matrix M-Theory package. The M-Theory adds several sporty exterior enhancements including unique Speedway Blue paint with matching rear deck lid spoiler, a large chrome exhaust tip and M-Theory badges. M-theory also features 17-inch Caldina alloy wheels with P215/50R17 tires, four wheel disc brakes, logo floor mats, and an individually numbered limited edition plaque. The M-Theory will also feature enhanced vehicle handling thanks to a standard sport tuned suspension and sport strut tower brace will also enhance vehicle handling.

Still considered one of the best compact wagons. I don't think Toyota will redesign this car, thats too bad. Maybe instead next time they can make a 2 door coupe version of the Corolla.

It is a compact, compacts don't have V6s or AWSs (at least the cheap ones don't, excluding the Suzuki SX4)

The Vibe had AWD but was underpowered. If more attention was given to the exterior design, the Matrix-Vibe compact wagons could've been sales hits. It was obvious Toyota didn't want to develop the Matrix too much b/c it would compete with the Scion xB.

Toyota may keep this car around, under a different name. There have been spy shots of a 5 door and 3 door Corolla running around, which would be perfect for TOyota to use as a new Matrix

Actually the Matrix was supposed to be released under the Scion brand, but Scion didn't come out in time.

I bought a cert. pre-owned 2005 Matrix XR AWD in August this year. I sold my 2002 Civic EX Coupe for it. Why you ask, well, it looks awesome. The lines are crisp and very creased, I picked the Matrix over the Vibe because of that. Also the interior is very well fitted and the gauges and options are incredible. Not to mention I have AWD in car that is thousands less than a Subaru 2.5 and gets better gas mileage and holds more. I got it in black and it came stock with all of the following;

-16" alloy wheels
-front, rear lipkit and side skirts
-Fog Lamps
-Automatic Headlights
-6 Disc in-dash CD Changer
-JBL sound system
-All Wheel Drive
-all floor mats
-rear bumper protector
-side airbags
-disc brakes
-moonroof
-Toyot VIP Security System

Now I will also mention the speed. It is not as fast as my Civic was, and will not win many races. But it can cruise at 80mph very easily, the interior is very quiet, and the car moves around town great averaging 24-30mpg for AWD. I couldn't find a better setup, it has more room than a compact SUV and looks damn good too!
