Will Hyundai And Kia Eventually Pay The Price For Misleading Mileage Claims?
Over the last three years, the three hottest brands in the U.S. market have been Ford, Hyundai and Audi. Only Audi remains on an upward arc. Ford has stumbled on its MyFordTouch problems. And now Hyundai may find that its false-mileage mistakes will create more of a quagmire than it bargained for.

Already, Interbrand, the respected global brand-marketing research and consulting firm, is saying that Hyundai and Kia’s brand equity has been hurt by the fact that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency found the sibling Korean  companies made false claims of 40 mpg — too high by 1 to 2 mpg — for six of their nameplates. And filing of a proposed federal class-action lawsuit has ensued quickly.

Yeah......, they're getting sue right now by their customers who bought their cars. I belief this will damage their brands as a whole for a very long time.

But Kia and Hyundai do not have to worry because agent009 will probably still wanna to buy their car right agent009? ; )

I hate freaking lier and cheater. I knew something was fishy when they claim their cars were getting mileage that high.

And how come their cars is so slow when they claim it to have such and such horsepower? Someone need to look into their horsepower rating as well to make sure it's accurate.

Hey I think Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Ford is having a sale right now ; ) IMAO...............! IMAO......... sorry I cannot help it : )

If Ford got away with rounding up a 4.9 ltr to a marketing 5.0, I think Hyundia/Kia will be okay.

BMW engines used to say the 320, 323, 325, 328 had different engines when they were all the same engines, just tuned differently. The 330 and 335 have are the same I believe. The specs clearly state the engine is 2993cc.

There's a difference in marketing your engine with a name and claiming i can do something it can't.

Americans have short memories. If Hyundai/KIA knock $5000 off each car, all will be forgiven very fast. Looks like the Korean gov't is going to have to raise taxes a little to make up for the extra subsidy Hyundai/KIA are going to need to cover their cost.
