SixxFive,

I know, but they were down by only 2.6%, not 13.4 like BMW.

Well Diablo, that's good that Audi is doing so well but in the end you still are driving a jetta and thats embarrassing.

MBKing:Is that everything you can say to protect your MB. You can't say anything based on facts(except for the first part of your post) because MB hasn't been doing better than audi, so you write some shitty things with no back up.

Do not celebrate too early BMW bashers.

This year still to come to US market: new 3er coupe, new X5, fecelifted X3.
Next year: facelifted 5er, facelifted 6er, 3er cabrio, 2er cabrio, and perhaps 2er coupe.

Also MINI 3G is coming.

And BTW Huu76 the 3er wasn't touched and the X5 is being replaced hence the sales drop. Duhhh...

When Lexus sells over 1.1 million cars in over 140 countries then we can talk.

BTW BMW bashers:
- for first half worldwide BMW brand sales increased by 11% to 597,120 units.

You would be surprised how many of BMW Financial Service customers coming off their current leases are extending their contracts for the anticipation of the New X5, 328, 335 and even in some cases the revamped X3. Sales will definitely increase in the ladder half of the year.

I think it has to do with the fact that the new coupe isn't out yet. The coupe is a big seller for BMW, and nobody wants to get the e46 when the new model is a month away.

BMW has several new products in the line....A new MINI Cooper is about to bow as well as the 3 series coupe, X5 and refreshened X3. There is even spyshots floating around of a facelifted 5 Series. I think this is just a lull while people wait for the new products to come out.

BMW will recover like any good German car company would. It is just a blip for them.

Yeah but their profits are up!! Here is the headlines from Bloomberg....

"Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, the world's largest maker of luxury cars, reported second-quarter profit rose 18 percent, exceeding analysts' estimates, as its new midsized car outsold models from Mercedes-Benz and Audi"

Auto_Union: You say I use no facts, but is it not a fact that Audi is owned by VW and therefore uses the same parts in their cars? Just as a Lexus is a Toyota and a Mercedes is a Chrysler, Audi is a VW. And is it not fact that VW makes the jetta?
Let me ask you a question, if you had something embarrassing, lets say a jetta, and you're not a jetta kinda person. When people would ask you why you drove a jetta you'd say things like... oh well it has a great interior and it wins all these awards, or you got stuck with it cause your cars in the shop or whatever. Point being that you try to hype things up when you're embarrassed, and I'm sorry that you're embarrassed by your jetta but hey you bought it and if you don't even have an audi then you're just trying to argue because you feel bad for diablo cause he has a jetta and you shouldn't have even commented in the first place.

First, for its price/category the Jetta is a fine car, especially the ones with the 200 hp 2.0 TFSI engine. The GLI has beaten the Acura TSX in several comparisons. Also, Audis are not related to the Jetta (the A3 is, but as we know the Golf is a better car than the BMW equivalent, the 1 series)

Toyota created Lexus just as Honda did Acura and Nissan did Infinity.
You will not see the same body panel on a VW and an Audi.
To say that an Audi is just a rebadged VW is very ignorant of you. They don't even have the same engine layout anymore!

The 325 and 330 are replaced in the USA by the 328 and 335 models.
Also the Coupe/Cabrio are out of prduction due to retooling/new generations.

3 series are under-supplied in the USA to keep prices up, so that the can slot the the 2 series bellow it.

Also X5 and FL X3 are coming, as is the new MINI and FL 5 and 6 series, not too mention the 3 series coupe and Cabrio, and later the 1 series 3 doors and 2 series coupe and cabrio.

Profits didn't increase last years due to special circumstances related to RR Plc. shares. For what they lost last year, they more than compensated/gained this year.
