Did You Know? UAW Autoworkers Take Off Election Day To Vote

Even on Election Day, the auto industry was the subject of an urban legend generated from inside the Beltway, this time from the insiderish confines of Politico.com.

The confusion began when Ralph Gilles, Chrysler's vice president of design, tweeted: "Chrysler gave its entire work force the day off to Vote Today! Let's go! #America."

That prompted a story by Politico, the all-politics-all-the-time Washington-based website, which played a story prominently Tuesday on its site about Chrysler's UAW workers.

The original story gave the impression that this is something new. It also pointed out that the UAW supports U.S. President Barack Obama and union members mostly vote for Democrats.

All non essential employees throughout the country should have it off (students over 18 too). It is a great sham that so many can't vote because they can't get off work, or have to go to class.

Most countries hold elections on weekends or they create an election "holiday". Reason? The want as much of the electorate to be represented as possible.

It's the least he could do considering he spent so much money to buy their votes. Check this article out, I'm sure there's a law he broke somewhere that can get him impeached, that is if the media ever lets the public see it.

1. Bailout costs more than stated, obviously.
2. UAW given preferential treatment over "normal" creditors when recouping assets.
3. US government nearly doubles purchases of GM vehicles running up to election to pad/manipulate GM sales success.
4. UAW to buy back shares from gov't (supposedly paying back the bailout) at $10/share when taxpayers need to sell at $53/share to recover their "investment".
5. Forbes predicts GM on verge of filing for bankruptcy again.
6. The kicker is after the bailout, GM sent 131,000 jobs overseas.

I wonder how Ohio and some other states would have voted if the media focused on issues instead of Big Bird?
