If The 2014 C7 Corvette Looked Like THIS, Would It Finally Be Able To Steal The Thunder From The Italians?
We have seen a few cammo clad spy shots of the all new 2014 C7 Corvette circulating over the last few months.  But if you really start looking around it becomes readily apparent that absolutely no one has a clue on what the next generation Corvette really is going to look like. Barely even a glimmer.

We do know that the next gen sports car will undergo a dramatic restyling to better appeal to the exotic import buyer, and with a price tag that can easily exceed $100,000 that isn't a bad idea.  But sadly we may not see the real deal until the debut at the Detroit Auto Show next year.

But what if?

What if you took the design elements of both an Italian super car and the American performance icon and came up with a new look?  Our good friends over at amcarguide.com might be on the right track with the renderings below.

If the next gen Corvette looked like this, would Chevrolet finally be able to take on the Italians?

If it looked like that, id buy one, rip the badges off and tell people it was an Aston Martin One-77 Zagato prototype.

Hard to not increase price with the changes/improvements you suggested. But I do understand your point.

The interior basically needs to be fairly premium. The Camaro is where a cheaper interior is kinda expected. Today's Corvette should be a "no-excuses" vehicle. If a consumer wants a better/more upscale interior, there should be options to do just that. Allow the Corvette to be almost completely customizable - not just paint & wheels, but trim, interior, electronic gadgets, etc.

No...more of same. The vette needs five things to take thunder away from Italians: 1)Performance (very close to being there), 2)Style (need a change in exterior to a WOW design, like the reaction to '63-'67 over previous model, 3) a much much better interior, one that creates a real sense of occassion in design and quality of materials, 4) fully integrate ergonomic systems and switches, everything works smoothly and with precision together and with the driver (needs much work here, drive a BMW), and 5) keep your price advantage, don't go up in price (plus produce a strippeed down, entry level driver's car to get younger people back in the brand).

If it was more like the Corvette designed Daytona Prototypes that are racing in the Grand-Am Road Racing Series, it would be my next car:

They need to mid-engine, cab forward design to really impress the Italian car lover.

When will the rear receive some 'design'?

@dlin,

I agree with you 100% like it or not they need to change up the design to attract the newer and younger crow. The car rear design look like or similar to the Corvettes of the 90s, come on...... it's 2012 now and 2013 is around the corner.

It's ugly actually, so no.

The first image and the second are not the same car. I prefer the second, because it is less derivative from the older generation, but I need to see more angles of it first.
