General Motors To Modernize Buick Logo

General Motors To Modernize Buick Logo
A GM top executive said that the automaker is considering changing the Buick’s famous tri-shield logo.

GM North America President Mark Reuss said that this would be the first logo redesign in more than 10 years. The current logo has three side-by-side shields enclosed in a circle and it is made in chrome. Mark Reuss did not say what determined the company to make this change, which can send customers into frenzy as it is an extremely sensitive process for an automaker.

GM should not exist. But apparently we common sense folk lost that battle

So now we are left to witness GM's recurring demise as its thousands of dumb, overpaid, do-nothing executes ponder such irrelevant nonsense such as how to "change their logo". Yeah, that's going to fix what's wrong with your ugly, unreliable, over-priced cars. You idiots.

GM execs have it backwards.

The logo takes on the meaning of the product to which it is affixed. At one point, a 3-point star was as meaningless as a quartered blue and white circle. It's the cars that were fairly consistently desirable, and that made the related logo a "mark of excellence" in consumers' minds.

GM execs have adopted the misinformed belief that if the logo is "modern and sexy," then people will want the product it's attached to. A laughable idea, for sure. Just churn out the same old junk, but put a sexy logo on it. That'll sell. Here's an idea: Purchase the Ferrari brand name, and put that on all your cars! You'll be able to charge over $200K and car collectors and enthusiasts will be glad to pay it, because they'll own a Ferrari. Get it? No? I didn't think so. Back to your logo modernization project.

Right on, randy! Government Motors thought Buick could compete with Lexus, Acura and Infiniti, not to mention BMW, MB and Audi. How stupid are they? Give me a break. I guess that hasn't happened, so they think changing the logo might do the trick. Those stupid chowderheads! The only way Buick can compete with them are in Government Motors' wildest dreams.

Actually, Buicks look good now, and they're selling them by the ton in China.

Ah, so we are subsidizing Chinese car purchases? Wonderful.

Besides, Buick sales seem flat:
