Detroit News Deems The BMW X6 As Too Complex For The Money
The 2013 BMW X6 xDrive35i is unique, visually stunning, marvelous for carving a curvy road, and frustratingly flawed.

I recently drove a $79,995 M Performance Package-equipped version to a hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The long drive to and from the breathtaking wilderness — just beyond the tourist-trap chaos of Gatlinburg —provided plenty of time to get to know the X6.

It became a love-hate relationship.

The big luxury machine BMW calls a sport activity vehicle was powerful, quiet and comfortable through hours of interstate highway driving. The seats were wondrously adjustable and supportive. The sound system was beautiful. There was plenty of room for luggage, backpacks and hiking boots.

He is smoking that weird tobacco again. Some car companies are over doing the technology. I like technology but I won't pay for some of it. I think the "Heads-Up" displays is something I wouldn't pay for. If the navigation systems were standard, like A/C is now, that would be fine. Many of us have a Smart Phone or iPad with an app on them that can help us find our way. Car companies in the coming years will be making standard Navigation Systems.

Next gen BMW X5, and X6 are right around the corner. Their success is apparent especially when you consider Mercedes, and Audi with its Q8 will follow suite and enter the segment.

No you can bet Bimmer will follow Mercedes in the success of their GL before Mercedes follows Bimmer's sluggish selling X6
