Lexus needs to take off its rose colored glasses and get real. They are excited about rolling out new products throughout the line...but when Porsche, the gold standard, cuts back production for 2013 with the great expanding lineup it has coming on stream Lexus may be way too optimistic. I'm optimist by nature but higher income taxes, higher capital gains taxes, 3% Federal unearned income tax, etc etc is going to have an impact.

the rich will be fine, they can still afford their luxury cars even if they pay more in tax... class warfare at it's best

Exactly. The higher rates aren't even that much higher. It is a very small marginal increase. I would be more worried if I were a manufacturer of non luxury brands and no deal is reached. It will hit the middle and lower classes harder than it will the rich.

I hear what you are saying but I suspect that Lexus' biggest customer group is not the rich but the marginal rich who will feel the difference.
