This is the all-new 552bhp Audi RS6 super-estate, and it's the first of four RS models due in 2013

Audi has released official details of its new V8-powered 552bhp RS6 Avant – the first of four new RS models due on sale next year. The others are the RS5 Cabriolet (which effectively replaces the RS6 saloon), the RS7 and the first ‘Q’ model to wear the RS badge – the Q3 RS.

The RS6 ditches the old Lamborghini-derived V10 for a version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 from the S6

BMW's M5 is officially an after thought now considering Audi's S6, with its twin-turbo V8 that puts out only 420 horsepower and 406 lb.ft of torque was able to easily defeat the much more powerful BMW M5.

The Audi S6's official 0-60 mph time is 4.5 seconds from audiusa.com

With the RS6, Audi comes out with all guns blazing featuring the twin-turbo V8 with 552 horsepower and 516 lb. ft of torque. Official 0-62 mph time is 3.9 seconds.

The BMW M5 official 0-60 mph time is 4.2 seconds with 7-speed M Dual Clutch Transmission. That is 4 tenths of a second slower to 60 than the Audi RS6's official 0-60 mph time of 3.8 seconds.

4 tenths slower is a big difference.

Yes, but the launch from the AWD in the Audi is what makes it faster 0-60. Once the M5 does have traction it is faster.
