All of that said, with 2012 wrapping up in a nice and pretty little bow, you're starting to see plenty of those year-end stories come out. And after having a recent experience, my brain started churning.

ML350 Sport

Had it as a rental vehicle in Dubai last week and it was actually a much better drive than i expected, Engine response was good, acceleration not too bad and it handled all the UAE Roadworks related diversions and corners with a lot more agility that i ever expected.

ML has improved greatly from the days of the Bouncy Castle 2004 models.

2013 BMW 328i 8-speed auto- had this as a service loaner for a day. My daily driver is a 2009 335i 6-manual with sport package. Impressive how the new 4 cylinder turbo is mated to this transmission and it feels almost as quick as my 335i when set in sport mode. The stop/start feature is less disturbing that I thought it would be and can be shut off too.

I too find the N20 4 cyl a great motor when compared to the 335s N55 (I think thats the right code). I had a 335 6spd Coupe and just got a Z4 with the 4cyl and 8spd Auto and was worried I would regret the downgrade, not a chance... 30% better fuel economy and it is still a blast off the line.

FIAT 500...
Much, MUCH Quieter than the Mazda2, nice handling and the interior is HUGE! (at least for the front passengers)
