That is a very nice and very sporty convertible.

twin turbo is missing in the RS4 but hopefully they put in the RS5...

you wouldn't need twin turbo, it would be serious overkill.
i like this car a lot.

I'm on my 4th Audi...All have been extremely reliable.
2000 S4s have had a few problems, but I know a guy that still has his with over 400hp and still on stock turbos.
Audi is now the most reliable European brand in the U.S by consumer Reports and way ahead of BMW and MB.
And Audi's resale is actually better than MB and right behind BMW.
I'm sorry you had some problems with your S4, but your problems does not mean that all the cars are bad.
You might find them ugly but I find them beautiful and so do many people as Audi keeps beating sales record. They must be doing something right.

KaiserSoze, my 2002 A4 never had a problem in the 4 years i have had it. I just recently got a 2006 A4 3.2 and its been great. I think that the newer audi designs have been gorgeous.

If my friends S4 Cab is any hint...this should be a screamer.

Sweet car. Regarding reliability, I love my A4. That being said, I would never own any European car that is out of warranty. It is much cheaper to always own a newer one than maintain an old one!

It isn't as much of a safety issue as a money issue. You have to pay to sell it here basically.

Very nice. I'd trade some performance for a hard top convertible version though.

Logical, maybe you should watch the Top Gear show that rates the RS4. Clarkson loved it and he's a real Beemer fan!
Car and Driver never liked Audi.
Maybe you should drive one before commenting.

The Independent reviewed this car and likens it to a solar-powered flashlight. The coupe is already too stiff-too jittery and nervious from overtightened suspension. To cut the roof off makes it worse, and unlike Porsche, the article says Audi didn't soften the suspension for the cabrio. Its a beautiful car, but sort of a white elephant.

I have an 02' S4 with 75k, no boost leaks, running a GIAC-X, cold air intake, and other mods and never had a dealer visit or problem. The key is that you understand you turbos, provide proper warmup and cooldown, and use the correct oil.

Your S4 was just a rare case of problems that dissatisfied you. I have had the same problems with a BMW and Chrysler (dashboard cracked after 1 year from the sun and heat).

I'm planning on the S5 or the Nissan GT-R and am not married to Audi for any reason besides a balance of power coupled with the strengths of interior aesthetics. It all depends on what research tells me from other people's experiences. You should do the same before purchasing any car that you know little about. The S4 becomes expensive to maintain if anything goes wrong - I'm biting down hard and crossing fingers that I make it into 2008 unscathered with zero dollar repair expense.
