ATS, Fusion, And Accord Among The Front Runners For 2013 North American Car and Truck of the Year Awards

Finalists for the 2013 North American Car and Truck of the Year Awards were announced Wednesday in Detroit.

The Cadillac ATS, Ford Fusion and Honda Accord were finalists in the car category. The Ford C-Max, Mazda CX-5 and Ram 1500 were finalists in the truck/utility category.

They were announced at a luncheon of the Automotive Press Association.

The jury of automotive journalists from the U.S. and Canada that picked the finalists will now choose a winning car and truck or SUV from among them. The winners will be announced at the start of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month.

Given the recent recalls for ecoboost engines and exaggerated mileage on hybrid models, I wouldn't think the Ford models to make the cut.
