Photo Comparison: BMW M6 Gran Coupe vs. Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG

One of the sharpest and sleekest M models ever built has hit the interwebs today. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe will on sale in Gemrany in May 2013 and will take on an equally sleek and sporty opponent, the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG.

Just like the M6 Gran Coupe, the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG uses a V8 twin-supercharged V8 that sends 525 hp to the rear wheels. With the optional AMG Performance Package, the power is raised to 557 hp, close to the 560 horsepower delivered by the M6 Gran Coupe.

Both vehicles are built open the standard models and aim to bring a new level of sportiness and luxury to the respective performance sub-divisions. Since the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we will refrain to draw a conclusion on which model stands out more since we believe they both have an unique and beautiful design.

The Mercedes looks over-styled to the point of being cartoonish and the BMW just looks like someone stepped on a 5-Series.

Still... The BMW will likely be the overall winner.

The BMW is a boring design from a manufacturer that decide to add 2 extra doors and more wheelbase ....MB in the other side is completely different and recognizable from the other MB models and it was nicely done...

I agree with Yonder 7. All the BMW's look the same now, can't tell the difference between the 5 and 7 series and now the new 3 series. The 6 is the only one that looks somewhat different, but you can't tell if its the coupe or four door. The CLS IMO looks very classy and different from other Mercedes models. By the way the Mercedes CLS 63 will be faster. Look at the road test between the new SL63 and the M6. BMW have become very heavy cars.

Agreed that they need to clean up the CLS, primarily the ponton fender and the rear lights. It still looks gorgeous on the street, though.

The GC looks really good since it's mimicks the 5 Series which is a gorgeous design. But the 5 Series' proportions are much better, which makes it more aesthetically pleasing. Even the 6 Series coupe looks very uncomfortable to drive, with the super-long hood, compressed windshield view, high cowl, and low driving position.

M6 all day errday. the 6 series is gorgeous. MB is trying to get to futuristic looking.
