Now That The LFA Has Ridden Into The Sunset What Does Lexus Need To Do To Generate The Excitement?
Lexus' 552-hp V-10 halo car, the LFA sports coupe, drives into the sunset at an awkward time for the luxury brand.

During the LFA's two-year production run, which ended Dec. 14, it was positioned as the ultimate expression of Lexus quality and performance -- and carried a $375,000 sticker to match. The limited edition of 500 hand-built units sold out even before production began in December 2010.

But as Lexus struggles to reinvent itself as an emotional, pulse-pumping brand, the lineup loses the head-turning speed demon that spurred the image makeover in the first place.

Lexus executives concede they need a new halo.

Shouldn't this car still be generating excitement? When did this car start production? in 2010? And already you are talking about Riding into the sunset? It isn't even 2013 yet. Aren't you a being a little premature?

The last LFA rolled off the line early last week. As of now there is nothing public about a successor.

Lexus needs to develop another halo car that's not as hideous looking and that is a little more attainable price-wise. But still have outstanding performance.

Agreed, while the IS-F and new styles are encouraging, the fact remains they do not have the impact the LF-A does.

If they tweaked or created a performance version of the LF-LC, it may not be as insane as the LF-A but could make for a nice halo car that they could probably produce more than 500 of.

How about to-die-for gorgeous styling? That would excite me.

gotta agree with the LF-LC, definitely looks hotter than the LFA ( maybe because the LFA took forever to make )
they need to price it similar to the audi R8- Acura NSX..
at 300k i want a lambo, not a Lexus.
