What Do THESE Renderings Tell YOU? BEST Corvette EVER On The Way Or Is It A DISASTER In The Making?
In recent days the internet has been abuzz with the latest happenings surrounding General Motors' all-new take on the Chevrolet Corvette. It's been a busy week for Corvette news but I think the latest information, in form of drawings, sheds the most critical data yet.

It really is a look behind the curtain.

Likely one of the most controversial areas about this vehicle will be its exterior styling. With its Camaro-inspired rear end, we're not sure how that will go down in Corvette circles. Remember, these are the guys who FREAKED out when the headlights didn't pop up anymore.

But if you really take a good, hard look at these drawings there is A LOT of good to come with this 'Vette. Just about every element that has been panned in the past has been addressed.

Take, for example, the interior. Check out the updated seats! It appears there are two sets from the drawings but it's clear that there will be MUCH better bolstering, heating and cooling. Maybe Chevy learned from the Cadillac CTS-V's Recaros that drivers WILL spend the extra bucks to stay in one place. Given that GM has made some noise about the CUE system, I'd like to think that large, centrally mounted display will use that software.

Even more interesting is the drawing that shows what appears to be a performance display of some sort. It seems too big to be in the head's up display (HUD) but if it is, it is incredibly rich in content.

The C6 generation Corvette, specifically the Z06 and ZR1, are amazing performers with significant "bang for the buck." I loved driving them but I had an array of issues with the product that appear to be addressed in these drawings.

If Chevrolet keeps the driving dynamics the same but transform this into the great all-arounder it should have been from day one, it will be an incredibly powerful force to be reckoned with.

What say you, Spies?

Are these drawings getting you EXCITED or leaving you COLD?

i like the camaro but would be extremely disappointed if the corvette has similar styling cues... the corvette needs to be awesome and different from anything in the lineup..

Aside from the rear end's taillights, I think it looks pretty unique on its own.

From what I am seeing, I believe there is A LOT to look forward to. Of course, this is assuming that GM doesn't screw the pooch and bring the Corvette to market with poor execution.

All I can say is let's hope the rear end is not as hideous as these drawings. Yuk.

Why does it have to be either the 'BEST EVER' or a 'DISASTER'? There's a lot of space in between! Anyways, I think it will look unique, especially from the rear 3/4 back, and the performance will obviously be there. Looking forward to seeing some real-life shots!

@BHump

If you look at what's being said so far, it's been a very polarizing product. Purists are mortified, while I believe it really is going to be the best 'Vette ever...

i have high hopes, but i don't expect that the rear will look like this. the tail light shape is the worst part of the camaro, i don't want to see its influence on the c7 in any way.

From the front it looks like a Ferrari, just like the C6 did. Kinda gives me and idea of what a child born of a Ferrari and a Viper would look like.

Ha ha ha haaaaaaaa. This is what Chevy and Government Motors calls the new Corvette???

That is the most FUGLY rear end imaginable. HORRENDOUS for sure.

I feel sorry for the Corvette fanatics. They will have to endure this design catastrophe for years.

No wonder Chevrolet has kept this monstrosity hidden from the public.

They should have just buried it.
