STUD or DUD: If THIS Is It, Do YOU Think That The C7 Chevrolet Corvette Is A STUD Or A Big Fat DUD?

STUD or DUD: If THIS Is It, Do YOU Think That The C7 Chevrolet Corvette Is A STUD Or A Big Fat DUD?
Now I know what you will all say.

"How can you do a STUD or DUD on a car without official photos?"

Easy. It's basically been revealed in the leaked photos not to mention another publisher had VERY accurate renderings nearly a year ago.

This cat has been out of the bag, folks.

Obviously we're not expecting this rendering to be DEAD-ON accurate; however, a lot of the important details are there.

Take, for example, the C7's mouth, headlights and venting on the hood. Or, how about the C-Pillar and venting behind the front wheel well? Note that Camaro-inspired rear end with the black surrounds.

The C7's design has been -- for the most part -- outted and now we want to know what you think.

If the the BASE, next-gen Corvette costs $50,000 - $60,000, do you think it does the job OR do you think its competition will win the battle in the looks department?

Ultimately, we want to know -- IF the C7 looks like THIS, is it a STUD or DUD?

Stud, and I've got a '13 SL.
That thing (Corvette) makes me look

This is a jumbled mess of a design, with all the current cliché elements in force. Fortunately, it could have been much worse.

I guess we agree to disagree.

The drawings are likely more accurate as it was rumored to be from a GM source; however, the renderings do put it into 3D context.

Frankly though I think we're splitting hairs. The overall product's design has been figured out.

well, it looks kind of Ferrari-ish from the front, so that's good. Looks pretty Camaro-ish from the back, so less good. Regardless, whether you think the appearance is "stud" or "dud" it's definitely not a "fat" anything if the 3000lb weight target is to be believed. With a base of 450hp and 450lb-ft and sub-3000lbs, that'd make the base Corvette a pretty tremendous performance bargain.

Looks way too much like the viper.

Can you say FUGLY? Because that is exactly what the C7 is.

the side looks like its copying a Nissan Gtr, the front head lights remind me of a 599 gtb fiorano , looks good, but not jaw dropping..

Cheap copy. Mix of styles & cars. It doesn't look good.

Looks like the result of a committee to design a new Vette.

There is NO symphony, no wholeness, no symmetry to this Chevrolet C7. It is merely an aggregation of unrelated design points. The stench of failure is all over this C7.
