SHOWDOWN! Porsche 911 (991) Carrera S vs. Chevrolet Corvette GS vs. Audi TT RS vs. BMW M3 Coupe
If there's one thing I love about the German publications, it's their comparison tests.

I love the fact they're honest.

I love the fact they're number happy.

But MOST of all, I LOVE the selection of cars they put together.

If you follow the buff books in the States, you'll notice that year after year it's much of the same 'ol, same 'ol. But the European publications have no reservations about which products they're putting together provided it makes some sense and could be -- in some regard -- be cross-shopped with the other entrants.

I am pretty confident we wouldn't see the Audi TT RS, BMW M3, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and Porsche 911 (991) Carrera S go head to head.

We are NOW, however.

That said, we want to know WHICH car you'd have out of the lot and WHY.

Let us know in the comments below...

**NOTE: We've posted the lap times below for those of you that care to see the raw performance of each entrant.

M3. Best blend of pure driving sport, luxury amenities, daily driving ability to the track. You can get any color from the BMW family. Free maintenance, good resale, great cockpit ergonomics. Great sport seats that are very adjustable, nice thick steering wheel and the double clutch is perfectly smooth and precise. Wouldn't have it any other way.
I never drove a corvette I liked. (drove about 10 different ones over the years)
Never drove a real porsche, only boxsters, caymans and cayennes. All of them left a lot to be desired.
The TT is too small for me (6ft, 225, German stock) and I hate Audi interiors.

A couple of counterpoints:

- BMW's M3 is a great daily, no question. A great blend of it all.

- Chevrolet Corvette is great for driving fast. That's it.

- Porsche's 911 gets my vote. It's head and shoulders above all of these products and it can be daily driven.

- The TT isn't as small as you may think. Spend more time in it and get comfortable. If I can fit and be comfortable at 6'8 and 250 pounds, then anyone can.

The Porsche's chassis development has come so far that it has eclipsed the M3. The Corvette is still a work in progress. Each car gets succesevily better than the previous one. However, excellence is a moving target. It's not quite there yet.The TT is still based on a Golf chassis. Again it's a better driving machine than it was but has lost it's design mojo that the original model had. Audi can certainly develop it. Let's hope the 2014 model has some of the design ques that the "Quattro Concept" had when it was shown a couple of years ago.To me that would hve been the car to be "mark 3 TT".
