Mercedes-Benz S-Class To Come in Five Different Styles
According to sources, the upcoming new S-Class (W222) lineup will include five models in three different body styles.

The sedan version will be offered in three different lengths, due to the German car maker’s recent decision to axe its Maybach brand after a decade of disappointing sales following its resurrection in 2002. Also in the family will be a coupe and cabriolet model. The S-Class Coupe is likely to be officially revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014, while the convertible will be revealed six month later in Frankfurt.

All three sedans are expected to adopt the same styling, except for the length of the rear doors and windows. Standard and long wheelbase models will be unveiled this September in Frankfurt, while the Pullman version could be revealed next year at the Beijing Motor Show. Set to replace the Maybach 57, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman will probably have a 5700mm length.

wow, that rendered coupe looks truly elegant and first rate! MB finally got rid of the "flamed surface" rear fenders which was never attractive to me at all; this new look is much more elegant

In this profile pic, behind the door looks like "typical generic car," while forward of that looks Hyundai-inspired with the deep, swoopy body creases. The overly-stylized lights are, well, a dime a dozen with today's auto makers. At least they don't go half way up the quarter panel.

The S class coupe finally replaces the CL class, right?

MB's acronyms for all their cars make my head dizzy. They look good though.

Yes, MB is trying to simplfy their naming, just like they got rid of the CLK and went back to the E-Class Coupe, the CL will be replaced with the S-Class coupe. Granted you still have the CLS and CLA names, but that's their more sporty "4-door coupes"
