SPIED + VIDEO: TWO For The Price Of One - All-New Porsche 911 (991) GT3 & Turbo Getting WORKED On The 'Ring
Rumor has it that everytime a Porsche's Nurburgring lap record is beaten, a kitten dies.

Oh-kay, not really.

But if there's one thing that Porsche lives for, it's those damn lap times on the world famous track in Germany. Just a theory but I think some of the employees' lives in Stuttgart depend on it. I am kidding, again.

In all seriousness, while I JUST named the Porsche 911 my favorite car in 2012, I have a bit of a secret to admit. While I love the Carrera 2 S, I'm dying to see the GT3. I mean, it is just a more hardcore version of the one I think is best anyhow -- naturally aspirated power being sent to the rear wheels, yay!

Thankfully someone was at the Nurburgring when some engineers were absolutely caning it around the track. It has that lovely six-cylinder howl around the corners.

Even more intriguing was to see the all-new 911 Turbo in the same clip. Notice how much more reserved the Turbo is as it whispers -- relative to the GT3 -- past you? It may be reserved but from what we can tell, this Turbo is MOVING!

Take a look at the clip below and let us know WHICH 911 you're looking forward to!

Next generation Porsche 911 GT3 and a Turbo Type 991 driven very hard on the Track. Enjoy watching!

Clearly the GT3. Agree w/ your comments. In fact, I already have a down payment on an RS, whenever that comes about... That's how much I think the GT3 - especially it's RS variant - dominates the world of cars from a pure enjoyment standpoint at present times.

I've owned 3 late model turbos - fabulous cars, but I never loved them. Liked my 997.2 C2S better and love my R8 V10 MT spyder more than any of them.
I'd pass on the turbo and go for the GT3. For me, it's all about passion and based on my experience, unmodded 996 and 997 turbos created little. Hopefully the 991 turbo is more about the driving experience and less than just a "numbers" monster.

Yeah, I have to agree I never LOVED my experiences in the Turbo and Turbo S. Pretty disappointing actually.

Now the GT3s and C2S' are another matter completely. They have me hooked.
